Our Story
My passion for supporting mothers began in 2012 when our first child was born. I was suddenly the only person that could soothe this tiny human, and even though my partner was ever present he was just as clueless as I was!
I found a motherhood support group and found so much comfort and reassurance speaking with people who shared my worries, frustrations, and triumphs. Over the next two years I grew into my role of wife, mother, and nurse; but something was missing.
I decided that I was going to be the support to others that was so beneficial to me in that first uncertain year of motherhood. I returned to college and completed my perinatal certificate, graduating with honors. I began working on the mother baby unit at Guelph General Hospital in 2014.
In the fall of 2015 we welcomed our second child and my love of supporting mothers grew. I returned to school to complete the lactation consultant program. I successfully wrote my exam with the International Lactation Consultant Association and achieved the title International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in the spring of 2017 and Lindsay Pravato, IBCLC was born!
After 6 years of practice this business has grown into so much more than I could have imagined! Beginning in September of 2023 Samantha Sweetman will be joining Lindsay and together we will begin operating exclusively under our new name "The Tiny Human Company".
With The Tiny Human Company we will continue to provide the personalized infant feeding support our clients have come to know and love, we will also be expanding into prenatal education classes and classes for introducing solid foods. We have plans to eventually provide education on infant car seat safety, and infant CPR/first aid.
